Thoughts On LCCC

New school, new environment, new people, new teachers, new things..

Do I like it? Hm. I’ve yet to conclude this but I can tell you this, it’s way better than Cleveland State. I’m currently on my one hour break I have between my 2 night classes. I have one complain so far, um, I feel like a retard making this a complaint though.. When you’re connected to LCCC’s wireless, you cannot access Facebook nor Myspace.. It’s kind of lame. I thought the internet was just broke but then I could access uh…Tech lead okay. It’s sad when the first 3 things I want to check when I turn my laptop on is 2 community websites and um, work. Fortunately I have an iPhone but the edge network is too slow and I hate using it sometimes.

So my morning class today was called “Micro Applications I”, I hadn’t a single clue what this class was going to be about. You’d think I’d read a summary of the course or something eh? But nah, my adviser kept adding courses I needed and I let her because she was rad. It turns out in this course we are learning Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows XP and um, computer terminology. Hm. Y’know who knows this? Not only I, but children. Most kids in high school are required to take a course on computer applications now so why are we teaching it in college? Beats me dude. Especially for it being a requirement for an Web and Software Development degree. If you can’t use word or know how to use a standard operating system, you probably shouldn’t be developing. That’s just my thoughts on that.

I don’t fear for my life here. The majority of the population here on campus seem to be non-ghetto (Check that out guys, I’m not being offensive this time). It’s aye okay. Maybe that’s the only reason it’s better than CSU, also, I haven’t seen a single non-english speaking instructor yet. Watch, I just jinxed myself and I’ll get a million of them next semester… Um.. next semester I guess is summer but I’m pretty sure I’ll be takin’ me some summer courses so I can graduate from school sooner and maybe not be a child anymore.

Ghetto zip ups with various colors are quite ridiculous. I just saw someone walk past me with one, I kinda wanted to cut him….with something sharp.

Well. I am off now to my Accounting I course. It’s the longest class I have out of all my courses, I don’t know what could be talked about for 2 hours and 10 minutes, twice a week. Nothing could possibly be important..or intriguing in that class. Especially at 8pm.

I am a little sad today.
