This weekend I had a conversation over an online HP chat thing with an indian. Than I had to talk to one from microsoft. Absolutely no good. But this conversation below happened.. I love how they just didn’t get it.. Asking me the same questions a million times..

Yadira: Hello Brendan.
Yadira: Welcome to HP Total care for Pavilion Notebooks. My name is Yadira, How may I assist you today?
Brendan Do: Hi. I reformatted my hard drive and re-installed Vista Home Premium. But the CD Key at the bottom of my notebook won’t active. It tells me that it is an invalid key.
Yadira: I understand that after installing of vista operating system you are getting an message that it is not genuine, am I right?
Brendan Do: No. I installed it. Then I went and clicked the link in My Computer that says “Change Product Key” because I installed it without putting in the product key. Then I try to activate over the web but it tells me that my key is invalid.
Yadira: Since how long have you been experiencing this?
Brendan Do: Today. I reinstalled Vista today.
Yadira: Have you entered the key previously ?
Brendan Do: The first time I turned on the computer, yes.
Yadira: Are you getting any error message while activating the key?
Brendan Do: No. When I try to activate over the web, it says that the key is INVALID.
Yadira: Just to confirm, have you tried activtating the key by typing the key which is located underneath the Notebook.
Brendan Do: YES
Yadira: Just to confirm this is the first time you are activitaing it, right
Brendan Do: NO! I said before. I activated when I bought the Laptop. I reformatted today and need to activate again since I needed to reinstall Vista. But it tells me that my key is invalid.
Yadira: Okay in this case please follow the below steps.

……………..Some phone steps were here…………….

Yadira: Okay Brendan, just now I have found from my supervisor that you have to perform the Full System recovery using the Recovery discs or through F11 recovery to resolve the issue.
Brendan Do: My laptop didn’t come with the recovery disc
Yadira: Just to confirm you are having the Recovery Partion on your Notebook as D:\.
Yadira: Brendan, if you are haing the recovery partition that you have to create the Recovery discs for your Notebook.
Yadira: HP recommends you to create the recovery discs when you purchase the Notebook.
Yadira: Are you with me? I request you to respond, as the delay may cause disconnection in our chat session.
Brendan Do: I deleted the recovery partition. But I just got off the phone with a microsoft representative and they gave me a new ID to use. I’m all good now.
Yadira: Glad to hear that.
Yadira: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Brendan Do: No. I am good. Thanks.

Haha, So there’s two reasons to outsource: pay less money in wages, and force the customer to use another company’s technical support. This way you can have less people working at your technical support facility. GENIOUS!!!!! lol
